Carmelo Anthony Receives Ring For Olympic Gold Medal Showing

February 23, 2008   Two-time Olympian Carmelo Anthony received on Monday night prior to the tipoff of the Denver Nuggets-Boston Celtics game his official ring commemorating his efforts in helping the U.S. Olympic Team return from Beijing with the gold medal.

Aiding the U.S. to a perfect 8-0 record at the 2008 Olympic Games, Anthony started in all eight games and averaged 11.5 points and 4.3 rebounds a game.  In the USA's semifinal game versus defending Olympic champ Argentina, he scored a team high 21 points to help lead the Americans to a 101-81 victory.
